Yes, it is possible. However, it depends on the individual taking the test. Several factors will determine this. Some of these are the student’s level of interaction with the English Language, determination to have a high band score, exposure to strategies for a high band score, access to trained IELTS experts, and adequate practice using official IELTS practice questions.

The test format, scoring, and timing of the test are the same as IELTS Academic on paper and computer taken in a test centre.
The Listening, Reading, and Writing tests are delivered in the same way as IELTS on a computer.
The Speaking test is conducted online via video call with an IELTS Examiner.
It is ok to use idioms in the Writing test especially if it is an informal task. Just make sure the context that you are using the idiom within, is correct.
For the Speaking test, you are encouraged to use idioms where possible, keeping the context in mind.
It is easy to have the misconception that the ideas or arguments written down will be carefully read through and factor into your final grade. However, that is not true.
For both Writing tasks, you will be judged on how well you write and not based on your personal ideas or argument.
Why you might have an accent local to your country, you do not have to worry about getting penalised for it.
Your examiner is not there to ensure you have the same accent as themselves. Your accent or slang is not part of the evaluation criteria and does not affect your score.
You can use American or British English in your Writing test. It is even recommended that you use the version that you are more comfortable with!
This will allow you to write faster and more confidently, spending less time checking your writing. However, do not mix both American and British spelling.
It depends on the form of writing. If you are writing an essay which expectedly should be written in the formal tone, the use of contractions are not allowed.
However, you can contract when you are writing informally. For instance, a letter to your friend or family member.
